Tiffany Jones Fine Art Gallery in Buderim was buzzing with laughter and brimming with colour last Sunday (27 June) when the “Putting on the Ritz” art exhibition for acclaimed artist Kate Smith was unveiled at a ritzy champagne opening.

Art collectors from Victoria, Toowoomba, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast purchased works in the show and enjoyed the opportunity of meeting the artist and hearing her speak about the inspiration for her lushly coloured pastels of women from the 1920’s and 30’s.

Kate Smith’s exclusive range of accessories from her “Flapper Habberdashery” Collection was also much admired with guests treating themselves to the artist’s glamourous hand made and expertly created scarves, brooches and wrist cuffs.

After winning hundreds of awards and a long and successful career, The “Putting on the Ritz” exhibition is 63 year old Kate Smith’s final solo exhibition in Australia.

The show in Buderim will be the last opportunity art buffs will have to see and choose from a large body of Kate Smith’s work.
